SUGARING FAQ

1/4 inch about the size of a grain of rice or two weeks worth of growth.

HOW LONG DOES HAIR NEED TO BE FOR AN APPOINTMENT?

No, sometimes people go too short and it can’t be sugared. If it needs any trimming I got you.

SHOULD I TRIM BEFORE COMING IN?

Some places feel more sensitive than other however if you follow the pre-appointment suggestions it’s much easier.

DOES SUGARING HAIR REMOVAL HURT?

Absolutely! Just wear a tampon or diva cup and you are good to go.

I STARTED MY PERIOD, CAN I STILL COME IN FOR MY APPOINTMENT?

I recommend stopping Retin-A one week prior to sugaring on the specific area. If you are using Accutane, we recommend at least six months to a year off the medication before any sugaring, facials or peels.

CAN I GET SUGARED IF I USE RETIN-A OR ACCUTANE?

If you shave between appointments you’ll keep your hair on different growth cycle’s making it hard to sugar all the hair at once. Leave it alone so we have enough hair growth to sugar.

IS IT OK TO SHAVE IN BETWEEN SUGARING APPOINTMENTS?

FACIALS FAQ

I always start a new client with a facial consultation. This gives me a chance to better understand your skin, see your needs and start you on a home care regime before doing any treatments. Book your free consultation HERE.

I'M NEW TO FACIALS, WHICH ONE DO YOU RECOMMEND BOOKING FIRST?

If you're using Retin-A stop 7 days before your appointment and avoid any exfoliating products 72 hours before your appointment (or longer depending what treatment you're doing). Don't wear makeup to your appointment, but do wear something comfortable so you can relax.

I HAVE A FACIAL COMING UP, ANYTHING I NEED TO DO BEFORE?

Peel clients must be on a Lira home care regiment from me for at least two weeks before treatment and follow aftercare protocol.

I'M INTERESTED IN A PEEL, WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO PROPERLY PREPARE?

For 72 hours after your peel:
• No exercising / hot showers / saunas / hot tubs / pools & keep the skin cool.

• No excess exposure to sun, no sunny trips no lake or beach day for 2 weeks

• Do not pick or pull at peeling skin.

• No exfoliating or active ingredients till peeling is done (about 7 days after peel)

Peel Timeline:
Day 1 - skin might feel warm
Day 2 - skin might start to feel dry
Day 3- skin will feel tight and dry (this is good)
Days 4-7 - you’ll start to see peeling happening. Dark spots can look darker as they start to peel and slough off this is totally normal.

WHAT DOES AFTER CARE OR RECOVERY LOOK LIKE AFTER A PEEL?
